Totalsafes Installation service is carried out by our in-house team of DBS checked, fully qualified fleet of engineers, who are based all around the UK. Some safes may come with free installation to a ground floor location but others may incur an additional charge which is noted on each page. If the installation route involves stairs this is usually done via a quote, please get in touch if you need your safe installing upstairs/downstairs. Lifts can be used at no extra charge as long as the maximum capacity weight for the lift does not exceed the safe weight.

Safes and cabinets with fixing holes in the base and/or rear are designed specifically for wall and/or floor (bolt down) installation. Your insurance company may insist on a security safe being installed to meet the manufacturer's recommended cash rating. We recommend safe installations are carried out by a qualified installer. Our team are fully trained safe engineers and DBS checked.

We advise when having a safe installed to choose a suitable area in your home or office and always make sure that there is a solid floor or a solid wall to fix the safe to as this meets all manufacturers advise that ‘a safe to be installed correctly must be fixed to a solid wall or floor’. You may find that some safes come with rear (wall) or base (floor) fixing holes and some are supplied with both rear and base. You can find this information on each one of our safe’s product page under the specification tab. Some fire safes may not require Installation, these will be described with no fixing holes and only Position Delivery will be available instead of Installation.

For the best installation, all skirting boards need to be removed so the safe is flush to the wall this will make sure the safe has a secure grip to the floor or wall and there will be no leverage or spacing around the safe. We advise that the skirting boards must be removed before the engineers arrive as this is the customers responsibility as well as making sure there are no wires or pipes in the area of installation.

If you are looking at some of the heavier and larger cash safes we may advise you to get a site survey, the surveyor could assess where to have the safe the range of sizes available for the space you have and the best route for access. This would be at additional fee which is refunded after a certain purchase

Once you have chosen what safe to purchase, where you are having it installed and if you need Totalsafes to Install it. We will then also help you get the most suitable date for your installation. All Installations carry a lead time of up to 15 working days. We will give you a suggested install date on the day or within 48 hours of the order being made and we can then give you an ETA the day before your installation. All safe installations are taken place on a weekday between 08:30am – 17:00pm, unless agreed previously with ourselves.
